Services
Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Friday, August 3, 2007 at the First Reformed Church, 529 Newark Pompton Tpk., Pompton Plains.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Interment will be in the First Reformed Church Cemetery, Pompton Plains.
Albert Berghorn age 69 of Pompton Plains died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at home, while surrounded by his children.
He was born in West Paterson and lived in Montclair before moving to Pompton Plains forty-three years ago.
Mr. Berghorn was employed by the Hoffman La Roche Corporation, Nutley for forty years before retiring in 2002. He maintained his Black Seal boiler license and was certified in Asbestos control.
He was a member of the Nutley Elks Lodge 1290, Nutley.
Mr. Berghorn was a volunteer with the Pequannock First Aid Squad for several years.
He was an US Army Veteran and belonged to the American Legion Post 242, Pompton Plains.
Albert was predeceased by his loving wife of forty-one years, Carolyn (Hughes) Berghorn in 2001.
Beloved father of Todd Berghorn of Pompton Plains and Dana Hilliard and her husband David of Pequannock; loving brother of David Berghorn and his wife Lucy of West Paterson, Viola Appaluccio and her husband Joseph of Sewell and the late Robert Berghorn; cherished grandfather of Kyle and Kira Hilliard.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Judes Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-2729 would be appreciated.
