Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Funeral services will be held 9AM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from the funeral home then to Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, 45 Urban Club Road, Wayne where a 10 AM Funeral Mass will be offered.
Alberto Leggieri, age 82, of Wayne, passed peacefully at home while surrounded by his family, on Thursday, April 6, 2017.
Alberto was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where he was raised and lived until he was thirty-four years old. In Buenos Aires he followed in his father’s footsteps working as a tailor making custom clothes. In 1957, he married for the first time and was blessed with his first child, Gladys. Determined to give them a better life, they migrated to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream.
After a few years from separating from his first wife, Alberto met Fabiola. They were both fortunate enough to find love for the second time around and married on March 28, 1974. They created a new home in Bloomfield, NJ with Fabiola’s daughter Gina. In 1980, they were blessed with the birth of his only son, Albert, who was his pride and joy. As a family they moved to Wayne, NJ in 1986. With Fabiola by his side, he evolved into a savvy entrepreneur from manufacturing clothing to finding his true love in real estate. Together, Alberto and Fabiola were able to achieve Their American Dream for their three children.
Alberto will be remembered as a gentle soul. He was a caring, compassionate, generous, and honest person who tried to help everyone he crossed paths with. He was a family man who enjoyed traveling to visit his relatives in Argentina and Colombia.
He was the loving husband of Fabiola (Romero) Leggieri; devoted father of Gladys Leggieri of Boynton Beach, FL, Gina Lucio of Miami, FL, and Albert Leggieri and wife Dana of Wayne; cherished grandfather of Linda, Ray, Bianca, Esabella and grandpuppies Reggie and Riley; dear brother of Elsa Ferraro of Buenos Aires, Argentina; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Alberto and Rosa Leggieri, and his first wife Maria Vertone.
