Alta Lorraine Rodgers of Bloomingdale passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020. Alta would have turned 91 on May 18.
Born in Pompton Lakes, Alta moved to Bloomingdale shortly after being married to her beloved husband Clarence. They were happily married for 42 years until his passing in 2004. Alta moved to an assisted living facility in 2014 after living at their house on Glen Wild Lake for 50 years.
Alta and Clary also had a vacation home on Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania, where they would enjoy boating and waterskiing on the weekends. They also enjoyed making and selling crafts and woodworking items at flea markets and craft shows.
Alta worked in the finance department of the DuPont corporation in Pompton Lakes for many years until taking early retirement. She was very kind and nurturing, loved animals, and would spend time caring for her dogs, cats, and any wildlife or stray animals that came into her yard.
Alta and Clary had no children, but have many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by them as well as her many dear friends at Glen Wild Lake.
