Andreana Scillieri (nee Raniolo), age 87 of Wayne, died peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020. She had been a resident of Wayne for fifty years.
Andreana was born and raised in Santa Croce, Sicily. During her teen years, she spent time in Paterson, NJ where she attended Central High School and worked in a coat factory in the Paterson garment district. In 1956, she moved back to Sicily and began dating Pippo Scillieri. They were engaged in January 1957 and were then married on April 27, 1957.
Pippo and Andreana moved to the US and initially settled in Paterson before moving to Wayne in 1970. Throughout the years, they would travel to Sicily to spend time with their families as well as enjoying many cruises. They also enjoyed socializing with their paesonos at the St. Joseph’s Club in Paterson.
Andreana was a truly dedicated wife and cared for her husband Pippo tirelessly. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was an excellent cook. Eating at Nonna’s house was a frequent event and the food always tasted better there. She must have added that special ingredient of love that only a mother can do.
Andreana is survived by her two children; Joanne Zisa and her husband Bill of Wayne, and Tony Scillieri and his wife Camella of Pequannock, five grandchildren; Jessica Tower and her husband Ryan, Alyssa LeDonne and her husband Mike, Billy Zisa and his wife Jaclyn, and Anthony and Dana Scillieri; two great-grandchildren; Adriana and A.J. Tower; one brother; Gino Raniolo and his wife Lina of Ragusa, Sicily; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Pippo; her parents Francesco and Giuseppina Raniolo, a brother Emmanuel, and a sister Josephine (Pina).
