Ann Rusciano (nee Tanis) age 74 of Paterson died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the home of her daughter Sally in Pompton Lakes. She passed away peacefully and quietly while receiving the loving care of her family. She was born in Paterson and had lived there all of her life. Ann was formerly an Office Worker for Carol Dye & Finishing Company in Paterson. Ann and Anthony Rusciano had a “committed and loving relationship” in marriage for forty-eight years.
Her children will always hold fond memories of a mother who was totally dedicated to loving her family. Her personality had a selfless nature always reaching out to nurture and shower love on her children. When the difficulties we all experience in life came her way she would handle them with grace.
Ann was also a very brave and strong person who had many struggles with her health over the years. She would rise up in a very positive way focusing even more love on her family instead of dwelling on herself.
Mom knew the way into her family’s heart was the wonderful cooking she provided to make holidays and family gatherings special. Especially memorable were her sauce recipes.
Surviving are her loving husband of forty-eight years Anthony Rusciano; two sons Anthony Rusciano Jr. and John Rusciano of Paterson; one daughter Sally Mazzella and her husband Neil of Pompton Lakes; three Grandchildren Carmela, Peter and Anthony Mazzella; five brothers Neil Tanis and his wife Martha of South Carolina, Tom Tanis and his wife Rosemary of Florida, Joe Tanis and his wife Georgene of Haskell, Len Tanis of Pennsylvania, Bill Tanis and his wife Carol of Pennsylvania.
She was predeceased by her parents Neil and Eva Tanis and her brother Peter Tanis also died earlier.
Those planning an expression of sympathy, in Ann’s memory, are asked to consider Passaic Valley Hospice, 783 N. Riverview Drive, Totowa, NJ 07512.
