Anton “Tony” Krasa, age 81, of Wayne, passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
He was born in Elizabeth and raised on Humbolt Street in Secaucus. After he graduated from high school he enlisted in the US Army where he served for two years. Tony married his high school sweetheart Edna Snyder, soon after being honorably discharged from the Army, on April 19, 1958 at Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus. After they married they made their home at 28 Columbus Avenue in Little Ferry. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters Carol and Donna. Tony and Edna had a loving marriage of forty eight years before her passing in 2006.
Tony worked for and eventually owned several gas stations in the area. He owned a service station in Ridgefield Park, a Texaco station in Secaucus, and finally the Shell station located at Route 46 and Piaget Avenue in Clifton before retiring in 1998.
Tony will be remember as a very patriotic man. He always had American flags on his cars and would often say “I won’t take the flags off my car until all the boys and girls come home.” He was a huge New York Mets and New York Giants fan. He had a dry sense of humor and loved to tell silly jokes. In his younger years he also enjoyed model trains.
Tony was the loving husband of forty-eight years to the late Edna Krasa (d.2006); loving father of Carol Giordano and her husband Frank of Wayne, and Donna Mangin and her husband Thomas of Lady Lake, Florida; he was the cherished grandfather of Stefanie (Josh) Crull, Anton Mangin, Samantha (Clint) Hatfield, the late Jayson Mangin, Butch Giordano, and JT Mangin; he was also the dearly loved great-grandfather of Lily Hatfield, Emma Hatfield, and Brooklynn Crull.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 would be greatly appreciated.
