Services
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Arthur Connelly age 51 formerly of East Rutherford, NJ died suddenly and unexpectedly in an automobile accident on Monday September 17, 2007 along with his brother William.
Arthur was born in Passaic and lived in East Rutherford before moving to Beaufort, SC in 1986.
He served for 20 years in the United States Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant between the years of 1974 and 1994. Arthur was a general contractor and was the founder of Connelly & Sons Contractor in Beaufort, SC.
Arthur's family recalls him as being a devoted Husband, loving father and grandfather. Heloved boating, fishing and sailing. His family also remembers him enjoying spending quality time in his condo on the waterfront.
Surviving are his wife Maggie (nee Yopp) of Port Royal, SC; two sons Arthur IV and his wife Stephanie of Beaufort, SC, and Andrew and his wife Carrie of Munford, TN; two brothers Bob and his wife Meral of Wayne, and James and his wife Nicole of Long Beach, LI, one sister Lisa Begly and her husband Christopher of Flushing, NY; and 3 grandchildren Jillian, Arthur V and Alex.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in Arthur's name to the American Cancer Society, 20 Mercer Street Hackensack, NJ 07601.
