Services
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 7, 2007 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 10 AM from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Our Lady of the Valley RC Church, Wayne where at 11 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Rotary International's PolioPlus Foundation.
Barbara Jane Ellis (nee Brandell) age 76 of Brielle, formerly of Wayne, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at the Overlook Hospital in Summit.
She was born in Montclair and lived in Wayne for twenty-three years before moving to Brielle 25 years ago.
Barbara graduated from Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield with the class of 1948.
She was a secretary for NJ Bell Telephone Co. in Fair Lawn and later Toms River for thirty-five years before her retirement in 1992.
Barbara enjoyed dancing, entertaining, socializing with family and friends and loved the ocean and beach.
A gregarious person, Barbara was stylish, vibrant, always on the go and had a high amount of inner strength and determination.
Surviving are one daughter Debra Ann Waldron and her husband Michael of Blairstown, two sons R. Craig Ellis of Basking Ridge and H. Scott Ellis and his wife Patricia of Basking Ridge; one brother Roger Brandell and his wife Beverly of Brielle; grandchildren Michael, his wife Cecilia, Lauren Ashley and Mattison Rose.
