Barbara A. Pezzuti (nee De Witt), 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Paterson to Oliver De Witt and Julia (nee Kristofka), Barbara spent her early years there before moving to Wayne as a young girl, where she attended Wayne High School. She later made her home in North Haledon for more than three decades before relocating to Manahawkin in 2018.

Barbara embraced life with enthusiasm and an appreciation for its simple pleasures. She loved shopping—whether for shoes, clothing, or the perfect gift—and was known for her generosity towards family and friends. She found great joy tending to her flower gardens, especially her lavender and lilacs, creating outdoor spaces that reflected her caring spirit.

Above all else, Barbara treasured her family. Holidays, particularly Christmas and Thanksgiving, were among her favorite times of the year. She always opened her home for big family gatherings, creating traditions and memories that her family will cherish for generations. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as "Gigi." To one granddaughter, she was affectionately called "Pretty," a nickname that perfectly captured who she was.

Barbara also had a lifelong affection for animals, especially her beloved dogs. Over the years she welcomed more than anyone can accurately recall, but none held a more special place in her heart than her cherished pug, “Tink” (Tinker Bell), whose companionship in recent years brought her immeasurable joy.

Professionally, Barbara built an admirable career through determination and hard work. She began working for NJ Bell Telephone as an operator before joining Ford Motor Company's Parts Distribution Center in Teterboro. Starting in the warehouse picking parts, she steadily advanced through the company to ultimately become a buyer for the entire distribution center. Later, while continuing her career at Ford, she also obtained her real estate license and worked part-time with ERA A.J. Cali Realty as a real estate agent.

Barbara possessed many creative talents as well. She enjoyed sewing, a skill she shared with her mother, and together they spent many hours creating clothing by hand. She and her beloved husband, John, also shared a passion for home improvement projects, working side by side to transform and beautify their home. They were married on August 6, 1981, blending their two families, and they shared more than three decades of loving marriage before John's passing in 2014.

Travel was another of Barbara's great pleasures. She especially loved vacationing in Sint Maarten, on the Dutch side of the island, where she returned year after year to her timeshare overlooking Simpson Bay. It became a place of treasured memories and relaxation that she eagerly anticipated every year.

Barbara will be remembered for her generous heart, quiet strength, and devotion to her family. Her legacy will endure in the traditions she created, the love she so generously shared, and the many lives she touched.

Barbara is survived by her loving children, Suzanne Trotta (Robert) of Manahawkin, and James Honeywell Jr. and his girlfriend Lynn Gerber of Boonton; her stepchildren, John Pezzuti (Marianne Paige) and Anthony Pezzuti (MaryAnn); her seven cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth (Andrew), Robert Jr., Jimmy, Brynn, Annalee, Alyssa, and Johnny, three adored great-grandchildren, Cole, Oliver, and Haven; her sister, Arlene Butterworth (Warren), two brothers; Wayne De Witt, and Ronald De Witt; her beloved niece; Carrie Butterworth, and many extended family members and dear friends.
