Friends may visit with the family at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne, on Thursday May 3rd from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

Funeral Services will be held at Friday May 4th 11am at the funeral home.

Betty Mae Re (nee Alt) age 86 of Clifton died Monday April 30, 2012 at Hospice of NJ in Wayne with her family by her side.

She was born in and raised in Clifton, lived there for many years as well as Totowa before moving back to Clifton 13 years ago. Betty was a Registered Nurse for over 40 years and worked for Paterson General Hospital and it’s affiliates until retiring in the late 1980’s.

She was also proud of her enlistment in the Cadet Nurses Corp. during WWII. Betty graduated from the Paterson General Nurses School and was also a member of the Paterson General Alumni Association as well as the Leisure Time Friends Senior Club.

Betty cherished 47 years of marriage to her late husband Frank Re who she assisted with his family business, Victor Dental Depot, until his passing in 1996. Her family remembers her love of card-playing as well as her love of world travel. Betty spent many years traveling all over the world and her family also remembers her being quite upset when she was forced to stop traveling due to her health.

Betty is survived by her son Thomas Re and his wife Maryann of Wayne and her daughter Bettyjo and her husband Neil of Vernon, 5 grandchildren Matthew, Rachael, Lauren, Brittany, and Chelsea, and three great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband Frank Re in 1996 and her sister Eleanor Brookes.
