Carmala (Milly) Tant, 92 of Pequannock, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, while receiving the loving comfort and care of her loving family.
Milly was the youngest of nine children born to Sebastian and Mary Minnoia. Milly graduated from Pompton Lakes High School with the class of 1950.
Milly met the love of her life, Jasper “Jack” Tant while working and they married in October of 1953. Their first home was in Lyndhurst, NJ where they were blessed with a son, Jack, in 1954, and later a daughter, Laura Lee, in 1958. From there they moved to Pequannock and Lincoln Park before settling in Pompton Plains. Milly had various jobs in food service with Flik, with her last being in the cafeteria at American Cyanamid before retiring.
Milly was very loving, caring, and devoted to her family. She also would help anyone who needed her. She enjoyed shopping for antiques. Her favorite pastime was playing cards. She also loved to go to the casino to play the slots. She was a lifetime member of the Golden Age Circle of Wayne where she made many close friends.
Milly was predeceased by her husband Jasper (Jack) Tant in 2011 after fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage.
Milly was the loving mother of Jack Tant and his wife Sharon, and Laura Lee Frost and husband Billy, cherished grandmother of Scott Tant and his partner JoAnne Auchtung of Oregon, Chris Tant, Sean Frost, Todd Frost and his wife Nicole, and Ryan Tant and his partner Christina Perrone, adoring great-grandmother of Aiden and Jackson Tant. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters; Lena Polito, Katie Delgado, and Mary Minnoia, and five brothers; Joseph Minnoia, Anthony Minnoia, Dominick Mennoia, Benny Minnoia, and Michael Minnoia.
