A private family gathering was held and she will be cremated as per her wishes. We were blessed to have had her in our life.
Charlotte Blau left us on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
She died from a long journey with Alzheimer’s of about 13 years.
At the end of her life, she was surrounded by her children around the clock.
Charlotte was born in Union City, NJ, in 1939. There she was raised, met and married her husband Bill in 1956. They moved to Lyndhurst for 10 years and then settled in Wayne for the next 46 years. Charlotte spent those years raising her six children and making Christmas the most special holiday. Most memorable were all the home-made Christmas cookies shared in her special tins! So it is symbolic she leave us at this time of year!
Charlotte worked at Sterns in the Preakness Mall, then State Farm when the children were grown. There she found fulfillment and met many wonderful people that gave her fond memories and laughs. Most will remember her love for the beach, and the memories she and Bill had at their home in LBI.
Charlotte was predeceased by her husband William Blau of 55 years, her parents Charles and Grace Brunje, her brothers Charles, Richard, Arthur and Howard Brunje, and loved in-laws Phillip Monti and Anna Jenisch-Brunje.
She leaves behind her sister Pauline Monti of Wayne and her children: Janet and William Carafello of Seaside Heights, Diane Blau-Torres and Steve Torres of Wayne, Catherine Blau of Pompton Lakes, Tara Blau of Wayne, David and Sherry Blau of Pompton Plains, William Jr. and Kasia Blau of Wayne; her beautiful grandchildren: Kristen and Frankie Iattarelli, David and Samantha Torres, Alexandra, Kimberley, and David Blau, Annabelle and Allison Blau; and her nieces and nephews and in-laws.
