Claire Gemeinhardt (nee Sidebottom) age 64 of North Haledon died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains. She died quietly and peacefully while receiving the loving care of her family at her bedside.
She was born in Paterson and had lived in Pompton Lakes and Haskell before moving to North Haledon thirty-one years ago.
Claire received her formal education at Pompton Lakes High School graduating with the Class of 1959.
Mrs. Gemeinhardt was a Bakery Clerk at the Oakland ShopRite supermarket in Oakland for the past ten years.
Her family and many friends will always treasure fond memories of a very special wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a wonderful cook , dedicated to her family and always making holidays and life celebrations very special. Perhaps the highlight of her life was the arrival of her grandchildren whom she adored with all of her heart.
Claire had a special inclination to head for Atlantic City to hit the big win which always proved elusive but entertaining.
Herbert and Claire had a loving marriage together for forty-five years until Herb’s passing in 1998. They very much enjoyed each other's company and they maintained a country cabin in Walton, New York where they spent many happy days together.
Surviving are two sons Scott Gemeinhardt and his wife Kim of Micco, Florida and Mark Gemeinhardt and his wife Mary of Highland Lakes; two sisters Arlene Manganello of Wanaque and Eileen DeRosa of Montville; two grandchildren Ashia and Jonathon Gemeinhardt; dear aunt to Ronald, Rachel and Jamie Manganello and George Sidebottom.
Claire loved her pets and she is survived by her cat Mittens and her dog Pal.
Her brother George Sidebottom predeceased her in 1998.
Those planning and expression of sympathy in Claire’s name are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105
