Clara Reda (nee Liotta), 99 1/2 years young, found her way to heaven on Monday night, June 15th, 2026.

Clara was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph and Angelina Liotta (nee Brancato) on November 29, 1926. She was the last surviving member of her large family. Her brothers Frank, Gus, Silvester, Leo, Carlo and Tony, and sisters Mary and Francie.  Clara had to leave high school early to help support her family and worked as a seamstress.

She met her husband Frank when he was stationed overseas fighting World War II. When he saw a picture of her from his good friend Benny (Clara’s brother-in-law), he was immediately smitten and the two fell in love through the letters they would write to each other.

Upon his return the two were married on May 11, 1947, and relocated to the Bronx where they raised 3 children and where Clara remained until her 97th year.  Clara was widowed in 1983 upon the passing of her beloved Frank.  Clara devoted herself wholeheartedly to the care of her three children and occasionally worked as seamstress in a local dress shop in the Bronx.

She was sustained by a deep Catholic faith; she prayed the rosary every day and the power of her prayers were felt by all those she loved.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Aunt, and great Aunt; making every occasion special with her big smiles and even bigger hugs. Clara was always offering Italian comfort food, making her signature delicious Italian meatballs and her lemon cookies which she made from scratch and were loved by all. That cookie recipe now lives on, being made by her granddaughter Lauren. She herself especially enjoyed her tea, cookies and Entenmann's coffee cakes.

After dinner was always a game of cards, and she definitely enjoyed winning and not letting anyone forget it with a big smile on her face! She loved the New York Yankees, puzzles, the company of cats and, as mentioned, was always so excited to see how her grandchildren had grown and never stopped asking about how they were doing even till the end.

Clara also had many friends, most of whom pre-deceased her and she would go to her club twice a week to socialize and take trips through the community center.  She loved to play Bingo.

Clara joins her beloved husband Frank and her daughter Mary Ann Coloracci (Joe Coloracci) in heaven, both of whom pre-deceased her. She is survived by a son and daughter, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great granddaughters, with Lauren expecting one more on the way.

Clara is survived by her daughter Carol Chory and husband Larry, son Nicholas Reda and wife Mary (Fazio) and former wife Maria with who has 2 daughters: Lauren and Jessica, grandchildren Cristy Chory, Greg Chory and wife Koryna (Zendejas), Taryn Chory and partner Oscar Trinidad, Lauren Reda, Jessica Reda, great-granddaughters Penelope, Kaia, and Ruby, and future great-grandchild on the way. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Clara will be remembered fondly for her love of family and all her friends.
