Colleen S. Monahan (nee Murray) of Wayne, age 55, passed away on Oct 1, 2007.
Beloved wife of Patrick Monahan, devoted mother of Jessica, Aimee, Bethany and Jimmy. Daughter of Phyllis and Jim of Wayne, dear sister of Jay and Glenn of Pequannock and Alanna Schauer of Colts Neck.
Colleen grew up in Pompton Lakes, NJ and attended St Mary’s Elementary School and Depaul High School. She was a Flight Attendant for Eastern Airlines for four years. Afterwards she held the position of Purchasing Manager for Anexter Prussan. Colleen achieved her Bachelor of Science from Ramapo University, NJ by attending night classes while she raised her children. Colleen recently worked at Wayne Valley HS as a Media Specialist Assistant.
Throughout her life, Colleen volunteered her time to her children. She volunteered at Our lady of the Valley Church and School, was a Girl Scout leader for her three daughters, offered her talents as a seamstress for her daughters’ dance recitals and donated her time to her children’s high school sports teams and the Wayne Valley High School PTO.
Colleen was known for her blond hair, love of life and constant energy. She had a variety of friends which is a testament to her kind nature and glowing personality. Colleen loved children and had a special way of understanding. She baked famous Brownies and unmatchable Dutch Apple Crumb Pie.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wayne Valley PTO Scholarship Fund, 551 Valley Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470.
