Doris M. Wallin (nee Abrahamson) age 88 of Pequannock died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton.
She was born in Sodertalje, Sweden came to this country in 1924 at age six with her family and first settled in Brooklyn, New York later living in Passaic before moving to Lincoln Park.
She received her formal education at Passaic High School graduating with the Class of 1936.
Mrs. Wallin was a Secretary in the Medical- Pharmaceutical Division at the American Cyanamid Corporation in Wayne for ten years before her retirement in 1972.
Doris was active in the Lincoln Park community where she was a member of the Lincoln Park Lyons Club ladies auxiliary, the Democratic Club and many other activities in the community.
Her family will always remember her as a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always attentive to her family's needs, holding the concept of family above all.
Doris also enjoyed hobbies including oil painting, knitting and making clothing for her grandchildren.
Perhaps the most important highlight of her life was the arrival of grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart.
Surviving are one son Karl Wallin and his wife Andrea of Pequannock; one sister Karin Erhardt of Atlanta, Georgia; two grandchildren Krista Daley and her husband Bryan of Pompton Plains and Lisa Martinus and her husband Roy of Pompton Plains; four great grandchildren Hanna and Sophie Daley, Jack and Ben Martinus.
Her husband Hjalmar died in 1994 and her son Bart Wallin predeceased her in April 2006.
