Friends may visit with the family at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne, on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 9-10:30 AM. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday from the funeral home, then to Our Lady of the Valley RC Church, Wayne, where at 11 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Dorothy M. Forte (nee Mohan) of Wayne died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. She had been a Wayne resident since 1965.
She was raised in the St. Vincent Ferrer Parish of New York’s Upper East Side and had been a parishioner of Our Lady of the Valley RC Church in Wayne since 1965. She was past president of the Passaic County League of Women Voters and the National Organization for Women (NOW). She was a staunch advocate for equal rights her entire life.
Dorothy and her husband Mario (2006) were devoted to each other, raising their six children together and traveling all over the world during their fifty one years of marriage.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Thomas Forte and his wife Maritza of North Hanover, NJ, Claire Forte-McRobbie and her husband James of Somerset, NJ, Ralph Forte and his wife Juliet of River Edge, NJ, Dhyana Forte of Wayne, NJ, Honoria Forte and her husband Ed Morley of Glen Rock, NJ, and Dominique Forte and her husband Lascelles Geddes of Parsippany, NJ, and twelve grandchildren.
