Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 24, 2007 at 2 PM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 – 6 PM.
Edwin J. Kaslander age 83 of Clifton passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at the Saint Mary’s Hospital in Passaic.
He was born in Clifton and lived here all of his life.
Mr. Kaslander was a self employed Painting Contractor for forty-five years trading as Kaslander Painting Company located in Clifton. Ed had a very strong work ethic and his customers will always remember him as a man of fine taste and perfection with detail. He was a member of the Painting and Decorating Contractors of America.
He enjoyed the hobby of photography and enjoyed making personalized Christmas cards for others.
Ed served in the Army during World War II in the European Theater of the War. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was a member of the Richfield Christian Reformed Church in Clifton where he had served as church treasurer and deacon.
Edwin and Wilma Kaslander had sixty-three years of “beautiful marriage” together.
He leaves his family with cherished memories of a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was always lovingly concerned about his children’s and grandchildren’s well being. Dad was a true family man.
Surviving are his loving wife Wilma (nee Vande Vrede) Kaslander; one son Dennis Kaslander and his wife Gloria of Haworth; two daughters Lois Russell and her husband James of Hermitage, Tennessee and Barbara Pluger and her husband Peter of Waynesboro, Virginia; one sister Lee VanEmburgh of Little Falls; ten grandchildren Timothy Dyer and his wife Kara, Geoffrey Dyer and his wife Kristi, Robert and Christopher Dyer; John Kaslander and his wife Stacy and Debra Kaslander, Jennifer, Benjamin, Paul and Leah Pluger; five great grandchildren Lauren, Alyssah, Nora, Samantha and Timothy Dyer Jr. and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Aren Kaslander and two sisters Adriana Banfield and Lena Dreistad.
