Services
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 10 AM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Interment will be in the First Reformed Church Cemetery in Pompton Plains.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Eileen M. Dougherty (nee O’Sullivan) age 83 of Wayne, NJ died Friday, December 29, 2006 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains. Eileen passed away quietly and peacefully while receiving the loving care of her husband who was holding her hand.
She was born in Manhattan, New York and had lived in Bronx, NY before moving to Wayne sixty-one years ago.
Mrs. Dougherty was employed at Singer-Kearfott Corporation in West Paterson as a Senior Assembler for thirty-five years before her retirement in 1986.
She was a parishioner of the Holy Cross RC Church in Wayne.
She had a gift of gracious personality and always showed respect and kindness for others.
Eileen was a Life Member of the Deborah Hospital Wayne-Totowa Chapter.
Harold and Eileen had sixty years of “absolutely top shelf one hundred percent respectful to each other” marriage together.
Surviving are her husband Harold Dougherty; one daughter Mary Schwartz of Winchester, Wisconsin and Fort Myers, Florida; one son William H. Dougherty of Dallas, Texas; one brother Michael O’Sullivan of Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren Russell, Charles and Vanessa.
She was predeceased by her sister Mary Agnes Petree.
