Elfriede Marie Stepien age 72 of Wayne died Friday, December 29, 2006 at home receiving the loving care of her family and caregiver Kveta Basarabova.
She was born in Waakirchen, Germany and came to this country in 1953 settling in Garfield before moving to Wayne forty-four years ago.
Mrs. Stepien was a WWII “war bride” having met her late husband, Stanley Stepien(1995), while he was stationed in Germany.
She will be remembered as a person who loved gardening, reading, knitting and cooking. Most of all she was a loving and caring mother who did everything for her children.
Beloved wife of forty-two years to the late Stanley Stepien(1995); loving mother of Laurie Buelteman of Wayne, Heidi Nicholas and her husband Henry of Paramus and Robert Stepien and his wife Phyllis of Wayne; cherished grandmother of Steven and Kristina Nicholas and Robert Jr. and Kirsten Stepien; devoted daughter of the late Katharina(1970) and the late Anton Steigleder(1971); much loved sister of Toni Steigleder and the late Robert Steigleder(1993).
