Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Funeral services will be held 9 AM from the funeral home then to Annunciation RC Church, 45 Urban Club Road, Wayne where a 10 AM Funeral Mass will be offered.
Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
Elizabeth “Betty” Buckley (nee Jures) age 91 of Wayne, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, peacefully with the comfort of family by her side.
She was born and raised in Newark having graduated from Madison High School with the Class of 1937.
Just out of high school she worked for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Newark.
She met Harold Buckley on a blind date and they soon fell in love. They married on May 25, 1946 at St. Antonius RC Church in Newark and honeymooned in Atlantic City. They have enjoyed thirty-three years of loving marriage.
Betty was a founding member, dedicated parishioner, and cared for the Altar Cloth’s for over thirty years, of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church in Wayne.
She was a member of the Golden Age Circle of Wayne and a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Betty was a true lady who was conservative, quiet, private, and an avid reader who could often be found at the Wayne Public Library’s Preakness branch.
Betty was the loving wife of the late Harold Buckley; loving mother of Mary Ellen Cropper and her husband Art of Galloway, Barbara Troy and her husband Charlie of Kenvil, and Elizabeth “Betsy” Findel of Patchogue, NY; cherished grandmother of Jim Proctor, Lisa Manganello, Charles Troy, Michelle Findel, and the late Jennifer Mohns; loved great-grandmother of Kimberly, Karley, and Kelsey Proctor, Andrew and Nicholas Manganello, and Travis Mohns; dear sister of Frances Schlick of Absecon.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Susan B Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309 would be appreciated.
