Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 10 AM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Elizabeth Grace Ricciardi (nee Grier), born December 29, 1939, age 72. "Liz", formerly of Jersey City, NJ, entered into rest on May 28, 2012 at 8:10am.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Grier 55, Lila Black "Block" 54, predeceased brothers William, Robert, Eddie, Michael, and surviving sisters Cathy Johnson and her husband Sonny of Farmington, New York and Carol Stuart of Secaucus, New Jersey.
Beloved mother of John Ricciardi Jr, Michael Francis Ricciardi, wife Karen Boyle, and Christopher Robert Ricciardi.
Loving grandmother "Nana" to John's sons Nicholas, Robert Johnathon, and Michael's kids Anthony "AJ”, and Victoria; Liz is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
She had three wonderful boys and she devoted her time to her family. Her children look back with great admiration and appreciation for their mother’s love, dedication and devotion to them. She always worked hard to support her family and was a wonderful provider for them. Thanks Mom for being so special in our lives.
Liz lived in Secaucus, New Jersey 1961-1977, Farmington, New York 1977-1978, North Bergen, New Jersey 1978-1979, Secaucus 1979-1988, Wallington, New Jersey 1981-1984, Secaucus New Jersey 1992, Victor, New York, Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey 1992-1994, Lakewood, New Jersey 1994-1998, Point Pleasant Boro, New Jersey 1998-2001, and Secaucus, New Jersey since 2001.
Liz worked as an executive secretary at Lipton Tea in Hoboken, NJ 1954-1961, New Jersey, Van Es Catering, Secaucus, NJ 1964-1974 making all food inventory of a fleet of 30 catering vans, Wedgwood, Secaucus, NJ, Consumer Distributorship Secaucus/Elizabeth, NJ, Leisure Line Toys Secaucus NJ, Ricciardi Brothers of Secaucus Inc., Secaucus, NJ, Ricciardi Construction Inc., Secaucus, NJ, Ricciardi Florist, Secaucus, NJ where she designed floral arrangement's, Freedman's Bakery Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, Point Laundromat Point Pleasant Beach. Second Career went into nursing and became a CNA and LPN and worked in the following locations: Secaucus State of NJ..DCF Regional School, Neptune Ocean Medical Center, and Lakewood home for adult MS Disabled. 1998-2001 Customer Service Manager Facilities @ Tower I & II New Brunswick, NJ, retiring in 1995. After retiring Grandmother "Nana" helped raise son John's three sons who was a single dad from 1998-2001. Finally after a long hard life she was able to begin to rest and moved into the Elms Building in retirement.
Elizabeth is an unknown artist who has some beautiful pieces yet to be shown public & she is known to kids as the puzzle lady for all the puzzles she made & gave to the kids. Old school friends remember her for being the cub scout mom who drove all the kids around town in her VW Bug.
In 1995 cancer came to her 1st in skin cancer and she fought on and was past all the skin treatments by 2004.
In 2008 she developed colon cancer and after two long years of operations and treatments she was cancer free in 2010.
In 2011 cancer redeveloped as she got ovarian cancer and fought through three major surgeries and never once complained to anyone all along the way of her cancer fights.
She has impacted so many souls along this cancer path that her spirit will be impossible for anyone who even walked in her path to ever not be touched by the sweetest of souls, an angel on earth that now looks over her loved ones from heaven where Elizabeth can now finally be at rest.
