Funeral services will be held Saturday 10 AM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Elvira C. Stellingwerf (nee Panarello) age 93 of Louisville, Kentucky formerly of Wayne passed away on Monday, August 20, 2007. Her passing was quiet and peaceful.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York and had lived her childhood in East Paterson which is now known as Elmwood Park. She later lived in Blairstown and Wayne before moving to her son Ryan’s home in Louisville, Kentucky in 1998.
Elvira received her formal education at Paterson Eastside High School graduating with the Class of 1931.
Mrs. Stellingwerf was a Secretary for the Wayne Board of Education for fifteen years before her retirement in 1974.
She was a member of the Preakness Reformed Church in Wayne until her move to Kentucky, when she became a member of the John Knox Presbyterian Church in Louisville.
She leaves her family with many fond memories of a caring and loving mother and grandmother.
Ryan and Elvira Stellingwerf had a “wonderful, loving marriage” for fifty-three years until Ryan’s passing in 1991.
Surviving are two sons Ryan Stellingwerf and his wife Ann of Louisville, Kentucky and David Stellingwerf and his wife Sandie of Riverdale; three grandchildren Laura and her husband Steven Lafronza of Louisville, KY and Sandra Ryanne Stellingwerf of Simms, MT and Ronald “Sonny” Faulseit and his wife Kate of Chicago, Illinois; four great grandchildren Gianna, Vincenzo, Salvatore and Giuseppe.
