Eric Robert Gensinger, II, age 30, of Wayne, NJ passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, November 26, 2021.
Eric was born in Westwood and was raised in Wayne, NJ. Eric was one of three children to Karen Spriet and Eric Gensinger. While growing up in Wayne, Eric attended Wayne Valley High School and graduated with the class of 2009. Following his high school graduation, he attended Passaic County Community College where he studied Criminal Justice. After about two years of college, Eric decided that he wanted to work alongside his father in the family car business, Eric’s Auto World, located in Garfield. Eric worked with his dad on and off for nearly the last ten years. Eric accepted a position at the United Parcel Service located in Lyndhurst as a truck driver approximately two years ago and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 177. Although he was working full time for UPS he continued to work with this dad at Eric’s Auto World part time up until his passing.
About three years ago prior to accepting his position at UPS, Eric moved to Miami, FL where he lived about one year. While living there, Eric fell in love with the Miami lifestyle. He made many friends while living there, several of which owned very exotic pets. Eric was a truly avid animal lover. He spent much of his time at various animal habitats and sanctuaries, for a short while, he owned a Bobcat as a pet. His bobcat Xayla now resides in the Bronx Zoo in New York. Another of Eric’s interests was boxing. He was an ardent boxer since his childhood, and although he did not box professionally, he trained as a boxer in two different boxing gyms in NJ. Eric also loved riding motorcycles, both street and dirt bikes. He enjoyed boating, salt water fishing, and jet skiing as well.
But aside from all of Eric’s interests, hobbies, and talents, his greatest passion was for his family and his friends. Nothing in the world meant more to Eric than spending time with the people he loved. Eric had a larger than life personality and a sense of humor that was infectious. Ever since he was a young boy, he loved making people laugh either with a practical joke or a funny story. He always lit up the room upon making his entrance and was the kind of person that everyone wanted to be around. He was always the life of the party and made friends wherever he went. Eric always treated everyone he met with respect and kindness no matter who they were or what they did. Eric was a truly special person who touched the lives of everyone around him. He was taken from the world much too soon and will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him.
Eric is survived by his mother Karen Spriet and her husband Dr. David Spriet of Oak Ridge, NJ, his father Eric Gensinger of Garfield, NJ, three sisters; Cheryl Suarez and her husband John Suarez of Bloomfield, NJ, Lauren Gensinger and her fiancé Dr. Arthur Carminucci of Jersey City, NJ, and Brianna Spriet of Oak Ridge, NJ, his grandmother Carol Hordyk of Oak Ridge, NJ, his step-mother Natalie of Clifton, and many other extended family.
