Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Funeral services will be held 9 AM on Friday, April 27, 2012 from the funeral home then to Our Lady of Consolation, 1799 Hamburg Tpk., Wayne where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Interment will be in St. Michaels Cemetery, S. Hackensack.
Eugene F. Pawlowski age 80 of Wayne died Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
He graduated from Pope Pius High School in Passaic with the Class of 1949 having continued his education at St. Johns University where he graduated from the College of Pharmacy with the Class of 1953. After graduating from St. John’s he got a job at the Steigner Pharmacy in Paterson. He worked at the pharmacy and eventually took over the business having a lifelong career at the pharmacy until his retirement in 2000.
Gene was a parishioner of Our Lady of Consolation RC Church in Wayne.
Gene met Sophie Molczyk through friends in the neighborhood. The neighborhood friends often traveled together going to places such as Roosevelt Raceway in Long Island, day trips to the NJ Shore, trips to Radio City Music Hall in New York City, and the theatre in Montclair. They soon fell in love and married on July 8, 1972 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Garfield. They have enjoyed forty years of a loving, devoted, and faith filled marriage before Sophie’s passing on March 17, 2012.
He enjoyed traveling and has taken many cruises including Alaska, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. He liked to visit Atlantic City and played golf for many years.
He was the loving husband of the late Sophie (Lasko) Pawlowski (March 17, 2012); John Molczyk and his wife Loret of Wayne, Victor Molczyk and his wife Karin of Ellicott City, MD, and Christine Mascia and her husband Paul of Eldersburg, MD; dear grandfather of David, Daniel, Stephen, Brian, and Kevin Molczyk, and Thomas, Jacob, and Victoria Mascia; brother of the late Sophie Lomski, Gladys Nieradka, and Albin Pawlowski.
