Frank was a long-time resident of Wayne. He was born in the Bronx and moved to River Edge in Bergen County when he was 5 years old. He graduated from St. Cecilia High School in Englewood, NJ in 1952 and then went on to graduate from Fordham College in 1956 with a BS Degree in Biology and Chemistry and a minor in Philosophy. One thing he prided himself on was his independence from age 17 and the fact that he worked his way through college and paid for it from summer jobs.
When he graduated, he was drafted into the army and spent 2 years in the Medical Corp serving part of the time in Germany. He was fortunate in that it was a peaceful period between the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
When he was honorably discharged from the army in 1958, he started his business career as a pharmaceutical sales rep with A.H. Robins Company and spent 7 years calling on doctors and hospitals. He then went to work with Xerox Corporation and spent 12 years with them progressing from sales to sales management to product manager to Branch Sales Manager, responsible for 50 sales people in New York. His avocation was management and he read every book available on the subject and continued studying management for the rest of his live.
When Frank was 43 years old, he was recruited to be President of Konica Medical Corporation, responsible for medical product sales in the United States. The company was relatively small with 8 million in annual sales and 30 employees. When he left 20 years later the company had grown to 80 million in sales with 85 employees. Frank was action oriented and a risk taker with a can-do attitude.
After Konica, Frank did executive coaching and management consulting until he stopped working all together when he was 80 years of age.
He met and married Olivia McKay and they became active members of Preakness Reformed Church. They were together for 22 wonderful years and Olivia passed away on Oct. 29, 2017. Frank was pre-deceased by his step-daughter, Erica Worrell, and is survived by his step-son, Martin McKay, and his lovely wife Annie. He has 2 grandsons, Aidan and Evan McKay whom he adored. He is also survived by his son, Paul Minutolo and his daughter, Gina Minutolo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Frank's name to the Preakness Reformed Church, 131 Church Lane, Wayne, NJ 07470.
