He was born in Jersey City and moved to Pompton Lakes in 1950 and then moved to Wayne thirty-two years ago.
He received his formal education at Saint Peter’s Prep School in Jersey City and then after his military service under the GI Bill he went on to Saint Peters College in Jersey City graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. While at Saint Peters Prep he played football and was a star quarterback on the team.
Mr. Leucht was a Research and Development Specialist for Uniroyal Corporation in Wayne for twenty-five years before his retirement in 1985.
Frank enjoyed sports and was a league bowler at TBowl Lanes in Wayne for many years. He was the New York Giants Football Team’s number one. He stayed a loyal fan even if the team gave him many frustrating moments when they perhaps did not achieve as he expected.
His family will hold many fond special memories of their dad. Bob enjoyed taking dad to the Atlantic City slots, Susan especially held dear the beach excursions to Lions Head Lake for a Sunday morning swim. Ellen has very special and cherished memories of her wedding day as dad gave her away.
Irene and Frank had a “caring, loving and compatible” marriage for sixty-one years.
Surviving are his loving wife Irene (nee Francis) Leucht, one son Robert Leucht of Wayne; three daughters Susan Majdanski of Pompton Lakes, Elizabeth Wheelan and her husband Dean of Pompton Lakes and Ellen Leucht and her husband Andy Brajkovic of Wayne; cherished grandfather of Sean Farrell, Justin Wheelan and Zachary Majdanski.
