Helen Marie Reitz age 84 of Wayne died on Tuesday June 26, 2012 while receiving the loving care of her family.
Helen was born and raised in Bronx, NY then moved to Wayne and lived there nearly all of her life. She was a homemaker for most of her life journey; however she took a job babysitting for the last 10 to 15 years which she truly enjoyed. Helen was a long time parishioner of our Lady of Consolation Church in Wayne and was very devoted to her Catholic Faith.
She was a very devoted Mother and Grandmother. Besides her love and devotion to her family, Helen enjoyed cooking, baking, and shopping. She also enjoyed her bus trips to Atlantic City. Her family remembers her as being the kind of person that would “open her door to anyone.” If you were a friend of Helen’s family, she took you in as her own, no questions asked. Helen was a loving and caring person that will surely be missed by her friends and family alike.
Helen is survived by her two sons Robert Reitz and his wife Agnes of Chatham; and Bill Reitz and his wife Jody of Bloomfield, CO; her three daughters Sue McGill and her husband Bernie of Pompton Plains; Carol Lehman and her husband Don of Colorado; and Kathy Nomura and her husband Mike of Fountain Valley, CA; four grandchildren Stephen, Brianna, Kaz, and James.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made in Helen’s memory to Eva's Village 393 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07501.
