Services

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2006 at 11 AM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.

Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.

Helen M. Quinn “GiGi” (nee Wildner) age 87 of the Packanack Lake section of Wayne died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the Chilton Memorial Hospital. Her passing was quiet and peaceful while receiving the loving care of her family who were at her bedside.

She was born in Manhattan, New York and had lived in Queens Village, New York spending summers in the Hoffman Grove area of Wayne. She then moved to Wayne permanently in 1968 first living in Hoffman Grove and in 1974 she moved to Packanack Lake in Wayne.

Helen received her formal education at Richmond Hill High School in Queens, New York graduating with the Class of 1937.

Her hobbies included Tole Painting and she also enjoyed ceramics. Gigi was also a crossword puzzle expert who thoroughly enjoyed the New York Times crossword puzzles.

Her family is left with fond memories of a wonderful cook who welcomed, with an open door policy, her children’s friends. Mom was very family oriented and had a strong personality that embodied a firmness to be admired.

Jim and Helen were married in a “good team - loving marriage” together for fifty years before Jim’s passing in November of 1991.

Surviving are one son James P. Quinn and his wife Kathleen of Andover; one daughter Virginia “Ginger” Schmidt and her husband Fred of Warwick, New York formerly of Packanack Lake; nine grandchildren Kathleen “Heather” Stansci and her husband Mike, James Quinn Jr., Jennifer Finn and her husband James, Christopher Quinn, Tricia Faloni and her husband David, Susan Kelminson, Stacey Scarpa and her husband Ken, John and Fritz Schmidt; twelve great Grandchildren Amanda, Craig, Michael, David, Kate, Jarrett, Sierra, Ryan, Emma, Abby, Evelyn and Helen.
