Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 9 AM from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Saint Anthony’s RC Church, Butler where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Irene Buonpastore (nee Quigley) age 74 of Wayne died Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson. At her passing she was receiving the loving care of her family at her bedside.
She was born in Trenton and had lived in Butler before moving to Wayne ten years ago.
Irene was an Administrative Assistant at Toshiba Corporation in Wayne for twelve years before her retirement in 2000. She previously had her own business Irene’s Ceramics in Butler and later was a Manager for Coast Cities Bus Company in Lincoln Park.
She was a member of the Wayne PAL Bingo Club, the Mall Walkers of Wayne, the Columbiettes of the Knights of Columbus Council of Butler. She also was a member of the Our Lady of the Valley adult Choir and the Saint Anthony’s School Association in Butler.
She will always be remembered by her family and friends as a very loving and caring person. Mom was always there for her children in a very loving manner. She was truly dedicated with all of her love to her family especially to her grandchildren. Her pet name given to her by her grandchildren was “Nan”. She adored them beyond measure.
Irene enjoyed the hobbies of sewing, ceramics, painting and quilting. As a skilled seamstress she made wedding dresses for her family as well as Halloween Costumes for the children.
Surviving are two daughters Marguerite Kent and her husband Richard, Ann Marie Conti and her husband Jim; three sons Andrew Buonpastore and his wife Kathleen, Joseph Buonpastore and his wife Susan and Anthony Buonpastore and his wife Christine; one sister Virginia Crane; . Cherished grandmother of Kathryn and Christopher Kent, Brianna, Karli and Olivia Conti, Mike McKeon, Alison, Gregory, Eric, Alexa, Andrew and Lee Anna Buonpastore, Eugene, Cynthia, and Stephen Clegg; great grandmother to Nazare’ Olivera and Eugene Clegg.
She was predeceased by her sister Jean Jenkins and her brother Rolland “Bud” Quigley.
