Services
Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Monday, November 20, 2006 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, November 19, 2006 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
Irene J. Klinger Romaine (nee Post) age 89 of Wayne died on Thursday, November 16, 2006 peacefully while receiving the loving care of her daughter and granddaughters.
She was born in Paterson and lived in West Milford, Toms River, Oakland, Totowa Boro, Hawthorne, and Paterson before moving to Wayne three years ago.
Irene graduated from East Side High School, Paterson with the class of 1934.
Her family fondly remembers “pot roast Sundays”, sleigh riding and sleepovers at Nana’s house. Irene enjoyed reading, crochet, needle point, ceramics and was always cooking and baking through the holidays. She was a kind, sweet person who had a wonderful sense of humor.
Beloved wife of the late Leonard G. Romaine(1996) and the late J. Henry Klinger(1979); loving mother of Janet Melone of Wayne; devoted grandmother of Jean Frank and her husband Andy of Oak Ridge, Nancy Harty and her husband Gary of Pompton Plains and Kathy Faline and her husband Jim of Haskell; cherished great-grandmother of Rachel and Zachery Frank of Oak Ridge, Laci, Tucker and Travis Harty all of Pompton Plains; loved step-mother of Leonard Romaine and Diane Oldham of Wantage and Nelson Romaine and his wife Bonnie of Little Falls, and their children Rhyan Romaine of Maine and Matt Romaine and his wife Barbara and their four children all of Caldwell.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Passaic Valley Hospice, 783 North Riverview Drive, Totowa 07512 would be appreciated.
