A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 2-5pm at Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, located at 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne NJ 07470.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irma Iris Rosario, age 91 of West Milford, formerly of Rahway and Jersey City, NJ. Irma Iris Rosario passed away peacefully on Monday, August the 28th, 2023 while in the care and loving comfort of her family.
Irma Iris was born to Filomina Esquelin and Julio Prieto in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She raised five beautiful daughters: Adelaida Perez, Irma Luz Hornedo, Luz Maria Rosado, Luz Neraida Campos and Clarisa Rodriguez. Irma left Puerto Rico with her daughters to start a new life in the states with the help of her sister Celina Smith and brother Julio Prieto Jr. who resided in New York City. Soon after, Irma found employment in Jersey City as a seamstress making luggage bags. Irma was an amazing seamstress and loved making clothes for the family. She especially enjoyed making Halloween costumes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Irma found the love of her life, Israel Rosario who fully embraced Irma and her five daughters. They married and were blessed to love each other for 60 years. Irma enjoyed cooking, sewing, and taking care of her family. Irma dedicated her life to providing and supporting her family.
Irma was a beloved and dedicated wife and mother. She was grandmother to 12 grandchildren, a great grandmother to 26, and great-great grandmother to 5. She lived a blessed, fulfilled, and loving life and will forever be missed!!
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
