Jeanine Hundt, age 55, went to her new home in heaven on Saturday, February 28, 2015.

Jeanine Hundt, affectionately known as “the bean,” age 55, went to her new home in heaven on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Her parting words were "Stay true to the Lord and He will be there."

A graduate of Mary Help of Christians Academy in North Haledon she attended Montclair State College, for both undergraduate and graduate studies. She was awarded a Masters of Arts degree in 1986 with a major in Counseling, Human Services, and Guidance. She was a certified social worker employed by the North Jersey Developmental Center in Totowa specializing in developmental disabilities. There she touched the lives of many clients and families in a very special way as an advocate and caregiver before retiring in 2012.

She was an active member of Our Lady of the Valley parish in Wayne, involved in the Women’s Cornerstone at Saint Anthony’s parish in Hawthorne. In her retirement she volunteered at Saint Vincent’s Martyr School in Madison where she was an inspiration to all.

Jeanine will be remembered as having a bubbly, determined, fun loving personality. She was a fighter through and through. Throughout her life she had numerous physical challenges and overcame each and every one with humor, grace, and dignity. Jeanine loved to go on vacation and was always looking forward to her next adventure. If there was a casino within striking distance all the better as she loved to play the slot machines. She had a love of sports with her favorite teams being the NJ Devils, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and in her youth she was a dedicated Baltimore Orioles fan. Family and friends meant everything to Jeanine. She cherished her family and friends often serving as the Hundt family ambassador at family functions the others weren’t able to attend. She had a special love in her heart for her dad who was always there for her and who cared for her in a special, loving, and respectful way.

She is survived by her loving father George & stepmom Nina; dear sister of Msgr. George Hundt of Madison, James and his wife Kathy of Latham, NY, and Mary Papadonis and her husband Paul of Scituate, MA; she was loved by many nieces, nephews, and extended family, cherished by her many friends. Jeanine was predeceased by her loving mother Rose Hundt in 1997.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to St. Vincent’s Martyr - Step Into the Future School Expansion Campaign or the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund would be appreciated.
