JoAnn DiGabriele, age 85, of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away on August 8, 2026, surrounded by the comfort and love of her family. She resided with her daughter JoAnn in Wayne, New Jersey.

JoAnn was born in Newark, New Jersey, to Sebastiano and Pasqaulina Papa, and was raised in Belleville, New Jersey. She devoted her life to being a homemaker and caring for the family she loved so deeply.

JoAnn met the love of her life, James DiGabriele, in her neighborhood in Belleville. The two were married in 1959 at St. Anthony’s Church in Belleville and celebrated their marriage with a honeymoon in Florida. Together, JoAnn and James built a beautiful life centered around their family, faith, and Italian traditions. Their marriage was blessed with two children, James DiGabriele and JoAnn Kaiser.

JoAnn was loving, caring, devoted to her family, and never afraid to speak her mind. She was an incredible cook and the master of Sunday dinners, where her greatest joy was having her entire family gathered around the table. She took great pride in carrying on her Italian traditions and passing them down through generations. For JoAnn, food was about much more than a meal—it was a way of bringing the people she loved together.

Above all else, JoAnn treasured her family. She is survived by her son, James DiGabriele and his wife, Lori, and her daughter, JoAnn Kaiser and her husband, Mark. She was the beloved grandmother of Daniel, Thomas, Joey, Jimmy, John and Jenna. Her children and grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and happiness throughout her life. Also, her nephew Pat, niece Connie, Deanna and Godchild, Marianne.

JoAnn was predeceased by her beloved husband, James DiGabriele. The love and life they shared remained an important part of who she was, and her family finds comfort in knowing they are together once again.

JoAnn will be remembered for her love, strength, honesty, warmth, wonderful cooking, and unwavering devotion to her family. The traditions she created, the Sunday dinners she prepared, and the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known her.
