John V. Marruso age 81 of Wayne died Sunday December 10, 2006 at Saint Josephs Hospital, Paterson.
He was born and raised in Fairview and lived in West New York before moving to Wayne forty-eight years ago.
Mr. Marruso was a self-employed roofer trading as Fairview Roofing for twenty-five years before working with the Wayne Township Road Department where he worked for twenty-two years before retiring in 1992.
John was an avid pigeon flyer having belonged to the Lakeland Pigeon Club. He kept his coupe in Lincoln Park for many years. He was an outdoorsman at heart having enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed gardening and could often be found delivering tomatoes to his many friends.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-four years Emily (nee Grasso) Marruso; two daughters Mona McHugh of Wayne and Candace Calabro and her husband Daniel of Harrisburg, North Carolina; one sister Ann Marruso of Fairview and four grandchildren Christopher and Jonathan McHugh and Joseph and Katie Calabro.
