We are so sorry to say that Joseph Curtis passed away March 10. He was 98.
We are bereft, but accept that he is finally at peace. He was brilliant, funny, generous, kind, a fabulous storyteller -- a great man who served aboard the USS Minneapolis during World War II.
He was a character. One minute, he would play the spoons and in the next remind us how many millions of miles the earth is from the sun. We know the price of love is grief, but we would pay a thousand times over. As anyone who met Joe said, you couldn’t help but love the guy. We did and we will love him until we ourselves are but memories in our loved ones’ minds.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Curtis, 96, two surviving daughters, Eileen Curtis Israel and Janet Martin, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his devoted daughter Mary and loving son Jay.
