Josephine “Judy” Post (nee Gorman) age 81 of Jackson died June 14, 2007 at the Kimball Hospital in Lakewood. Her passing was quiet and peaceful while receiving the loving care of her family who were at her side.
She was born in Paterson and had lived there, Hawthorne, Totowa and Wayne for fifty-six years before moving to Jackson one year ago.
Judy received her formal education at Paterson Eastside High School graduating with the Class of 1942.
She was a member of the Preakness Baptist Church in Wayne.
She very much enjoyed socializing and was a regular at Bingo at the Wayne PAL and at the Wayne Boys Club. She was a wonderful cook and loved to read novels.
Judy found comfort in doing things for others. She volunteer many hours of her time at the Paterson General Hospital later called Wayne General Hospital. Josephine was a regular worker in the hospital luncheonette and gift shop. She was a person who loved helping others which included her own family. Her niece Tammy was the recipient of much of her aunts kindness and she reciprocated by taking her Aunt Josephine into her home during her autumn days. Although this was a very challenging experience she does not regret her efforts to help her aunt Josephine.
Judy and John Post had forty-two years of “wonderful and loving marriage” until John’s passing in April of 1988.
Surviving are four sisters Caroline Wallenberg of Phoenix, Arizona, Doris Peloso of Manchester Township, Beverly Mitchell of Beverly, Massachusetts, Jacqueline Gorman of Clifton.
She was tragically predeceased by her daughter Janice Post in 2006; her sister Janet Whitefleet and brother Joseph Gorman also died earlier.
