Justina Isabel Staffanell age 91, of Hialeah, Florida passed away on Friday, October 23, 2009.
She was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, the youngest daughter of Pedro Zapata and Aura (Carillo) Zapata, and came to visit the United States in 1962 and worked as a seamstress in New York City for a short while. She returned to Colombia for a few years and upon the death of her husband in 1976 she returned to the United States, having lived in Miami, Florida before ultimately becoming a United States citizen and settling in Hialeah, Florida.

She enjoyed a loving marriage of forty years to the late Manuel Staffanell(1976); she was the loving mother of Manuel Staffanell and his wife Alba of Atlanta, GA, Francisco Staffanell and his wife Nora of Monroe, NY and Clemencia Staffanell of Atlanta, GA; cherished grandmother of Virginia, Javier, Mauricio, Laura, Amara, Lilliana, Marianna, Alejandro, Benjamin and Jose; devoted great-grandmother of seventeen great-grandchildren and she had one great-grandchild on the way.
