It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Cavill, age 42, of Wayne, NJ.

Keith passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer and while receiving the loving care of his family.

Keith was born in Pequannock and grew up in Wayne Township.  He was one of three children to George and Joann Cavill.  Keith had a wonderfully fulfilling childhood surrounded by a loving family and many friends.  While growing up in Wayne, Keith was an avid rider and racer of dirt bikes.  He attended Wayne Hills High School graduating with the class of 1999.  During his time as a student in high school, he played soccer and was a member of the high school’s very first Varsity Ice Hockey Team.  Keith was also active playing soccer, basketball, and football with the Wayne PAL, where his father was director for many years.

After graduating from Wayne Hills High School, Keith attended Morris County Community College.  Keith left school to pursue an opportunity to start his own landscaping business.  In 2000, Keith raised the curtain on Cavill Landscaping, later to be called Stellar Property Management.  He owned and operated Cavill Landscaping for several years.

In 2003, Keith suffered a spinal injury in a motocross accident which left him a quadriplegic. His injury did not daunt him in the least.  Keith went on to become a motivational speaker, traveling to colleges and other institutions around the United States.  He remained active in sports and was a member of the quadriplegic rugby team, the New York United Spinal Jets.  In 2005, an American documentary film called “Murderball” was made about the athletes on the United States quad rugby team and their journey to the Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. The film was highly acclaimed and won multiple awards at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005.

Keith, later in 2012, restarted his landscaping business naming it Stellar Property Management.  Keith owned and operated his business until 2018.

Keith Was known by his family and friends as an individual who could defy and overcome any obstacle and seemingly impossible odds.

In his spare time, Keith enjoyed flying drones and was an avid New York Jets fan.  But aside from all his talents, hobbies, and interests, his greatest passion in life was for his family and friends.  Nothing meant more to Keith than spending time with those he loved.  He had a wonderfully infectious sense of humor and could light up any room he walked into with his beautiful smile.

Keith will be forever remembered as an inspiring, tenacious human being that touched the lives of countless people with his positive attitude and his perseverance.

Keith is survived by his mother Joann Cavill of Wayne, NJ, his sister Theresa Gabriele and her husband Greg of Wayne, NJ, his brother Robert Cavill of Lincoln Park, three aunts; Joyce Porr of Wayne, NJ, Robin Lapinski of Wayne, NJ, and Donna Polizzi of North Haledon, NJ, his cousins; Joseph Porr and his wife Linda, Justin Porr, Angie Shaw, Danielle Denman and her husband Brandon, Larry Lapinski, Jaime Penza, and others. He was predeceased by his father George C Cavill, Jr., and his four uncles; Larry Lapinski, Joseph Porr, Michael Polizzi, and Anthony Polizzi.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Keith’s name may be made to United Spinal Association, 120-34 Queens Blvd #330, Kew Gardens, NY 11415.
