Kenneth R. Geffinger, Jr., proud veteran of Norwich, NY passed away on August 13, 2026 from a sudden Cardiac Arrest. He was 64 years old.

Born on July 21, 1962 in Plainfield, NJ to Kenneth R. Geffinger Sr. and Audrey Jean Geffinger (nee Crowder), the family of three, moved to Wayne NJ. Kenneth was blessed with two siblings Keith and Nancy. He was a 1980 graduate from Wayne Valley High School. He went on to Lincoln Technical Institute and trained as an automobile mechanic.

Ken joined the United States Air Force in 1986 and became an Aircraft Maintenance Journeyman. He was stationed all over the world, and being  stationed in Spain was his favorite. Always spoke about running with the bulls. He was awarded USAF NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, and Air Force Longevity Service Award with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. He completed his service in 1994 at Nellis AFB Nevada in support of Operation Desert Storm.

Ken lived a life that took him to many places, including Las Vegas, Washington, New Jersey, and Sydney, Australia. Throughout his life, he was blessed with four beautiful daughters, Kennedee, Destiny, Skylar, and Inari, step sons Tristan and Jack who each held a special place in his heart.

Ken cherished spending time with his daughters and creating memories together. Whether they were crabbing, watching movies, riding around on his scooter, or searching for hidden treasures at garage sales and flea markets, he enjoyed the simple moments spent with the people he loved most.

One of Ken’s favorite places was the family beach house on Long Beach Island. He loved spending time there, enjoying the beach and making memories with his family. It was a place that brought him happiness and became the setting for many special moments that his family will continue to carry with them.

Kenny and Duvi rekindled their love in 2009, childhood sweethearts in 1985 and finding each other quite by accident on Facebook after 20 plus years. Almost immediately Ken moved to Sydney Australia to be with Duvi. Their love and affection was witnessed by many, and Ken never forgetting to tell his story of how they first met to anyone who loved to listen. They were married in 2011 and welcomed their beautiful daughter Inari Marlo in 2012.

Ken was obsessed with cars, especially convertibles. He owned all sorts of cars, a 57 Chevy, VW Beetles, a Karmenn Ghia, a Corvair, and a BMW. His dream car to own one day was a MG 1962/63 model. He even gave his daughter Skylar the middle name of Bentley.  He spent his last birthday at an antique car museum in Norwich with his daughter Inari.

Inari and Daddy shared an extra special bond. When Inari was just a few months old, Ken took her on his own to Sri Lanka to be with Duvi’s family. Everyone was quite surprised how this father took care of the baby all on his own, and seldom letting anyone to look after Inari. And since August 2025, while Duvi was overseas attending to family matters, Kenny again, stepped up for a whole year to be present in Inari’s life. Inari wanted to add that she and daddy went to the movies a lot and went to the Cinemas three times in one week! Kenny adored his wife and his entire family.

Ken enjoyed watching movies, especially comedies and going to concerts and listening to 80’s music. His favorite character on TV was Pee-Wee Herman. One of his favorite songs was Love Shack sung by the B52’s. He also loved pets, and would often rescue dogs from shelters and bring them home. He loved his fish tanks and his favorite fish being Koi’s. He built a pond in his Washington home. The family puppy Sydney, sleeps with one of his t-shirts, she misses him.

Ken also enjoyed gardening. He had quite a green thumb. He used to say how much he enjoyed growing plants from seeds, in his hydroponic garden. He took pride in his yard and people always stopped to admire his flowers and beautiful well-kept lawns.

He was a proud countryman and loved decorating the home for every holiday. Every holiday was celebrated, with banners and scary figures on Halloween. Halloween was his favorite holiday. He even decorated his Norwich house on Australia Day, to which some in the community called their home the Aussie House.

Ken enjoyed the company of his neighbors and work colleagues. He is fondly remembered as a hard worker and kind to all. He always made his colleagues feel special; they remembered his corny dad jokes that made them laugh constantly.

Ken was the loving father of Destiny Iosso, Kennedee Geffinger, Skylar Geffinger, and Inari Geffinger, he was also a stepfather to Tristan, Jack and Taleah (deceased). He is survived by his loving wife Duvi Geffinger, and his beloved sister, Nancy Limite, nephew Robert Kenneth, Nieces Eliza Jean, Lauren Jean and his cousins Melinda and Debbie.  He is sadly missed by his father in law Sumith, Brothers in Law Asitha& Dileepa, Sister in law Manique and niece Bianca. He is preceded in death by his father Kenneth R. Geffinger Sr., his mother Audrey Jean Frejie, his mother in law Clementine Liyanage and his beloved brother Keith A. Geffinger.

Ken will be remembered as a great storyteller, for the life he lived, the experiences he shared, and most of all, the love and memories he leaves behind with his wife, daughters and family.
