A Funeral Service will follow the visitation and begin at 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
Kerrie A. Croucher, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2026, while in the company of her loving family.
Kerrie was born to Robert O’Neill and Patricia (Bubar) O’Neill in 1954. The first of five children, Kerrie was born and raised in Coventry, Rhode Island. After graduating from high school, she earned an associate degree in dentistry and went on to work for many years as a dental assistant, first in Coventry, and then for several dentists in New Jersey. Her career ultimately brought her to Berkeley Heights, where she remained until retiring at age 64.
Kerrie was a truly animated and loving person. Her warm, friendly, and approachable personality made Kerrie a welcome and calming presence for the thousands of patients she cared for throughout her years in dentistry. She had a natural way of putting people at ease, which served her well in a profession where a friendly smile could make all the difference.
Kerrie met her beloved husband, Warren “Doug” Croucher, at the place she loved the most: the beach. The two were set up by Doug’s cousin, Dottie. After their long-distance courtship, the two grew closer and ultimately married in 1988, celebrating with friends and family at the Croucher family farm in Blairstown, NJ.
Kerrie and Doug raised their two children, Jeff and Jamie, in Millington, NJ. Kerrie found her greatest enjoyment and strongest qualities in being a mother. In addition to her unwavering maternal support, she painstakingly chronicled the first 18 years of their lives through photographs, a labor of love. While watching them grow, she made sure to pass on her strong work ethic and caring spirit. Kerrie’s love also extended to the family’s various pets over the years: the always present dog and a rotating cast of newts, iguanas, gerbils, and guinea pigs.
Kerrie found immense enjoyment in the outdoors. She loved soaking up the sun at Stirling Lake and reading by the pool. She took pride in caring for the beautiful flower gardens in her yard. She enjoyed bike rides and walks through the natural beauty of her neighborhood. Family vacations also centered around nature, including trips to Lake George, Schroon Lake, New England beaches, and winter trips to the mountains.
Kerrie was the beloved wife of Warren “Doug” Croucher, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage; the loving mother of Jeff Croucher and his wife Nicole, Jamie Courtland and her husband Maury; the playful grandmother to two grandchildren; caring sister of James O’Neill (deceased), Robert O’Neill Jr. and his wife Lisa, John O’Neill, and Tracy Waldeck and her husband Wayne; and dear aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Kerrie was predeceased by her loving parents, Robert and Patricia (Bubar) O’Neill.
