M. Edith Busko “Tootie” (nee Wicky) age 72 of Wayne on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at home. She died quietly and peacefully with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Paterson and had lived her formative years in Haledon later living in Wayne and West Milford before returning to Wayne in 2007.
Edith received her formal education at Paterson Central High School in Paterson graduating with the Class of 1953.
Her family and many friends had their lives enriched having known her. Edith was gifted with a selfless personality that was always welcoming others and presenting herself as a genuine caring person.
Family was very important to Mom and she was always concerned and always nurturing her children even into adulthood. She orchestrated many family gatherings treating those present with good food and wonderful hospitality. Edith maintained an open door policy and always welcomed and entertained her children’s friends. You might say she even adopted the children’s friends to be her own friends.
Jerry and Tootie had fifty-one years of “devoted and loving” marriage together.
Surviving are her loving husband Jerry Busko; one son Jerry P. Busko and his wife Kathy of Windham, New Hampshire, Susan Bennett of Butler, Lori Lindstrom and her husband Howard of Wayne; one sister Phyllis Laganella and her husband Anthony of Mahwah; eight grandchildren Derek, Holly, Ryan and Owen Busko, Shawn and Brandon Bennett, Brianne and Kyle Lindstrom; and her loving nieces and nephews.
Those planning an expression of sympathy in Edith’s memory are asked to consider St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105-2729.
