Services
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 9:30 AM from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Immaculate Heart of Mary RC Church in Wayne where at 10:30 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 PM.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
Margaret “Flora” Hughes (nee Hartnett) age 94 of Brick died Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Burnt Tavern Health Care Center in Brick. Her passing was peaceful and quiet while receiving the loving care of her family who were in attendance at her bedside.
She was born in Newark and had lived in Paterson and Clifton for thirty years before moving to Brick ten years ago.
Mrs. Hughes was an Office Worker at the A&P SuperMarket in Paterson for fifteen years before her retirement in 1975.
She was a parishioner of Saint George’s RC Church in Paterson.
Her family is left with many fond memories of a mother and grandmother that was truly dedicated to loving them with all of her heart. Mom would always make life special for her children especially on holidays. She also loved the arts and loved to go to shows in New York City.
Surviving one son Robert Hughes and his wife Barbara of Wayne; one daughter Patricia Hughes of Brick; two grandchildren Kathleen and Thomas Hughes; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her husband Robert Hughes predeceased her in 1967.
