A Memorial Mass will be offered 10 AM on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Our Lady of the Valley RC Church, 630 Valley Road, Wayne, NJ.
Margaret “Peggy” McCarrick age 90 of Wayne died peacefully on Saturday, August 6, 2011.
She was born and raised in Scranton, PA and lived in East Orange, Clifton(40 years), Holiday, FL(15 years), before moving to Wayne to live with her son Joseph three years ago.
Peggy grew up in the depression years and was taken out of school so she could help her mother clean the schools in Scranton, PA. While living in Clifton, NJ she worked for the Bendix Corporation in Teterboro as a wire former/electronics assembler for thirty-five years before retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Bendix Bowling Team for many years.
She was a great cook and made a terrific cheesecake. In her latter years she served as a hostess for the La Monicas Restaurant on Mt. Prospect Avenue in Clifton and even sold her cheesecakes to their customers. She loved her plants and flowers, playing with her ipad, going out to dinner, megamillions, and playing the slots. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting but most of all she loved when her grandchildren would visit her in Florida. Peggy was a dedicated mother and loved and cherished grandmother.
She was the loving mother of Karen Kehoe and her husband Douglas of Wayne, and Joseph McCarrick and his wife Christina of Wayne; loved sister of Helen Ruddy of Scranton, PA and the late Mary Ryan; cherished grandmother of Brian and Cindy Kehoe, and Corey and Kevin McCarrick.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Wayne First Aid Squad, PO Box 2004, Wayne, NJ 07474-2004 would be appreciated.
