Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 9 AM on Friday, August 31, 2007 from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne the to the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, RC Church, Wayne where at 10 AM a Funeral Mass will be offered.
Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
Mary C. Kohler (nee Gunnip), age 65, of Wayne died Monday, August 27, 2007 at Care One Health Care Center in Wayne. She passed away quietly and peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving family and friends were constantly at her side giving her much love and support.
She was born in Jersey City and lived in Philadelphia, PA and West Paterson before moving to Wayne thirty-nine years ago.
Mrs. Kohler graduated from the Academy of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, NJ in 1959. She then enrolled in St. Josephs Hospital School of Nursing, Paterson and graduated with the class of 1962 as a Registered Nurse. She worked as and was a Registered Nurse for twenty-plus years.
She was a member of the Packanack Lake Athletic Association, coaching both girls Tee-Ball and Cheerleading. She was also a past member of the Packanack Lake Golf and Tennis Clubs.
Mary was an active member and officer of the Packanack Lake Players acting in a number of leading roles as well as in their summer shows.
A parishioner of the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wayne where she served on the church’s first parish council and as a Eucharistic Minister.
Beloved wife of forty-three years to Charles Kohler; loving mother of Maureen Gianinio and her husband Philip of Wayne; cherished grandmother of James, Thomas, Timothy and Melanie Gianinio.
