A mass celebrating the life of Michael will take place at Our Lady of Consolation Church located at 1799 Hamburg Turnpike Wayne, NJ 07470 on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 11am.
Michael G. Manza, age 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the comfort of his home in Wayne, NJ surrounded by the love and presence of his family.
Raised in the Dyker Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, Michael was the youngest of three children. He grew up surrounded by close friends, family, and a strong sense of community, forming lifelong relationships and memories that he carried with him throughout his life. He often shared stories of playing baseball in the neighborhood with friends, stories filled with humor, adventure, and the simple joys of growing up in Brooklyn during that time.
Michael served in the armed services as a chef before beginning a long and accomplished career. He first worked as a printer, before becoming a stockbroker and later earning a seat on the New York Stock Exchange, where he was a respected member from 1968 to 1998. Known for his strong work ethic, intelligence, and integrity, Michael was a self-taught man with endless curiosity and knowledge. He often said, “If you put good things into yourself, good things will come out,” a belief he carried into every part of his life.
As a child, Michael met the love of his life, Rosemarie “Mimi,” in Round Top Mountain, New York. He often said he knew from the moment he met her that he would marry her. Together they shared 64 years of marriage built on devotion, loyalty, faith, and unconditional love. The love they shared for one another naturally extended into the family they built together, creating a home filled with warmth, closeness, laughter, and tradition. Michael and Mimi cherished bringing their family together, creating lifelong memories through holidays, Sunday dinners, vacations, celebrations, and everyday moments spent with children and grandchildren. Their marriage served as the foundation of the family and an example to everyone around them of enduring love, commitment, and togetherness.
Michael was known as the life of the party and never missed an opportunity to make people laugh. He had a gift for storytelling, an incredible sense of humor, and a way of making everyone around him feel welcome. He loved music, film, reading The New York Times, the New York Yankees, the mountains, and taking drives with Mimi. Michael also had a deep appreciation for beauty and style, taking great pride in always being well dressed and rarely going a day without a perfectly put-together suit. Together, Michael and Mimi enjoyed traveling to Italy, the Caribbean Islands, and especially the Catskill Mountains, a place they deeply loved.
Michael was a charitable, generous, and deeply faithful man whose devotion to his church remained an important part of his life. He touched countless lives through his kindness, wisdom, humor, and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Above all else, Michael was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, loyal friend, and the heart of his family. His legacy of love, strength, faith, and family will live on through all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his children Michael (spouse Kathryn), Helen (spouse Rudy) and Kimberly and grandchildren Nicole (spouse Antonio) and Zachery (spouse Stephanie).
