Funeral Services will be held on 8:30 AM on Saturday, October 13, 2007 from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to St George Orthodox Church, 237 Long Hill Rd., Little Falls for a 9:30 AM funeral service.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, October 12, 2007 from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
Michel G. Yazigi age 84, of Cedar Grove, died Tuesday, October 9, 2007.
He was born in Alexandrette, Syria and came to this country in 1990 having lived in Cedar Grove for the past seventeen years.
He spent his working life in Syria and was self-employed as a customs broker for over forty years before retiring in 1990.
Michel enjoyed reading, walking, his work, travel and playing cards. He was nicknamed “the computer” for his ability to keep track of all cards played during a card game and his capacity to come up with answers to numerical problems faster than a calculator.
He was predeceased by his first wife Georgette Yazigi on May 24, 1996.
Beloved husband of Katherine Yazigi; loving father of George Yazgi and his wife Abir of Little Falls, Ghassan Yazgi and his wife Christine of Montreal, Canada, Nabil Yazgi and his wife Pamela of Saddle River, Aida Adib and her husband Nemat of Cedar Grove, Samir Yazigi and his wife Claudine of Little Falls, Marlene Bassil and her husband Ghassan of Montville, Raymon Yazgi and his wife Francine of Cedar Grove and Ernest Yazigi of Boston, MA; loved brother of Christos Yazigi and his wife Helen of Montreal, Canada, Bassil Yazigi and his wife Sylvia of Beirut, Lebanon and Jamileh Moussaly of Beirut, Lebanon; cherished grandfather of sixteen grandchildren.
