It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michelle Scrimo, age 54 of Wayne, NJ.
Michelle passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Michelle was born in Belleville and was one of three children to Carol and Michael Scrimo. Those who came to know Michelle best affectionately referred to her as “Missy.” As a young lady, she attended Belleville High School and graduated with the class of 1987. Following her graduation from high school, Missy worked as a dental assistant and later became a certified beautician and worked professionally for The Villagers beauty shop in Verona for a number of years.
It was very clear to everyone that knew Michelle that her greatest passion in life was for her family and friends. Nothing in the world meant more to Michelle than spending time with friends and family. She had a warm and caring personality and could light up any room she walked in to with her wonderful smile.
Michelle was not only devoted to her family but also to her Catholic Faith. One of her favorite Bible Scriptures was John 14:1-4 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.
Michelle was a very special lady who touched the lives of everyone around her and was taken from her family much too soon. She will be forever remembered as a devoted daughter, a loving sister, and cherished aunt and great-aunt. She will be sincerely missed by her family and friends alike.
Michelle is survived by her mother Carol Scrimo, her sister Geraldine Haenchen and husband Peter Haenchen Sr. her brother Dominick Scrimo and his wife Michele.
