Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2007 from the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne then to Saint Marys RC Church, Pompton Lakes where at 10:30 AM a funeral mass will be offered.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Wayne Elks Lodge 2181, Wayne will have a service at 7:15 PM during the visitation hours.
Nancy Sorce (nee Guzzardo) age 81 of Port Orange, FL, formerly of Wayne, died Monday, August 6, 2007 at the Port Orange Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Port Orange, FL.
She was born and raised in Passaic and lived in Wayne for thirty-nine years before moving to Port Orange last year.
Nancy was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Wayne Elks Lodge # 2181, Wayne, the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 174, Wayne and the Wayne Golden Key Club, Wayne.
She loved her African Gray Parrot, Beethoven, who was her companion for many years.
Nancy loved her family, trips to Hawaii, and a party as she would often invite family and friends to the house. She also loved to play the slot machines and on her last trip to a casino in Pennsylvania she hit the jackpot on a slot machine just before she left.
Beloved wife of sixty years to Salvatore Sorce; loving mother of Linda Talkington and her husband Doyle of Virginia, Salvatore Sorce, Jr. and his wife Amelia of Pompton Lakes and Denise “Cookie” Lijo and her husband Ramon of Hopatcong; cherished grandmother of Kelly Whitmarsh, Michael and Kevin Sorce, Justin and Jaime Lijo and Tyler and Whitney Talkington and two great-grandchildren Jared and Alyssa Whitmarsh; she was predeceased by her three brothers John, Russell and Joseph Guzzardo and two sisters Jay Guinta and Anne Guglielmo.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Saint Marys RC Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes NJ 07442 would be appreciated.
