Funeral services will be held Friday 8 PM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home, 567 Ratzer Road, Wayne.
Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 5-9 PM preceding the service.
Nellie Eugenia Fusco, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2007.
Nellie was born in Greensboro, N.C. on July 14, 1923. She was the ninth child of Charles and Lenore Huffines. A friendly and vivacious girl, Nellie worked in the PX and welcomed servicemen to the local U.S.O. club during World War II.
In 1946, Nellie relocated to Paterson, N.J., where she met and married Mario Fusco. In the 1970's, Nellie was employed as a school crossing guard for the Paterson Police Department and, in the 1980's, was employed by Meyer Brothers Department Store in Paterson.
Family was always important to Nellie. She will long be remembered for her red hair, her sparkling personality, and her great pot roast dinners. Always outgoing and friendly, she aquired many lifelong friends.
Nellie was predeceased by her husband Mario (1968). She is survived by her children Catherine, Michael, Frank, David, and Susan. Loving mother-in-law of William Knobel, Barbara Fusco, Rosa Fusco, and Sandra Conte. Beloved grandmother of Frank Fusco, Jr., Marissa Mc Donough, David Fusco, Gina Fusco, Nicholas Abbondolo and Michael Abbondolo. Nellie is also survived by her sister Mamie Anderson, and many nieces and nephews.
